Previous Managing Director of Wirra Wirra Wine Company for seven years, Hardys Wine Company for 24 years and a council member of the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI). Past Vice Chair of the Grape Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC). Chairman of Adelaide Wine Show and of Clare Wine Show. Judge at the Sydney, Hunter and National Wine Shows in 2008. Extensive judging experience since the late 1970's.
Committee of the Victorian Wines Show Director – Karen Docherty Karen Docherty holds a BAppliedScience (Charles Sturt University), a GradDipPsychology and PostGradPsychology ( Monash University). Oenologist and consultant to medium and small wineries, Marketing and Sales, 15 years wine judging National, State and Regional wine shows and 5 years as Head Steward. Karen has particular interest in sensory perception. Her experience also includes work with high risk adolescents. Karen also worked on the World Health Organization WHOQOL-OLD instrument construction study, with a particular emphasis on examining the impact of mild cognitive impairment on older adults. Her work included the development and validation of a psychological measure. Karen worked at the Australian Centre Posttraumatic Mental Health (ACPMH) Austin Repatriation Hospital with responsibility for handling all the ACPMH program data. Her passion includes research and writing. Chairman - Darren Jewell Darren has been involved in the wine industry for the past eight years. His roles have encompassed Wine Sales and Winemaking. He is currently employed in the Yarra Valley. Darren has been a committee member with the Victorian Wines Show for 5 years. Secretary/Treasurer - Sarah Barnbrook (Rehm) Sarah has a foundation of community development and local government experience. She has worked in a number of areas including as a computer help desk, a junior programmer, a public service officer for a large city, a programme specialist, and public works community support liaison. Sarah studied Business & Marketing and Community Development. She has extensive volunteer experience and a lifelong passion for involvement with Women's Support Groups, Blood Drives, Homeless Shelter Renovation, Little Athletics, and other community spirited events. Current community connections include Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society Junior Vice President and Head Steward, and FamilyCare as a volunteer. Ron Holden Ron is a sheep and cattle farmer from Seymour and has been involved with the Victorian Wines Show since its inception: One of the initiating forces behind the show. Working in the capacity of Director and Secretary in the early years and as Chairman and committee member to the present: Ron has had great pleasure watching the show grow and develop and continues as an active member of the organising committee.
Robert Berglund, JP, MPA An administrator and manager with 30 years experience in the conduct of Margot Green Margot Green has worked in a number of areas including hospitality, manager of a variety of businesses, owner and console operator for local motors. She also ran a local farm with her husband for 18 years. Current community connections include Country Fire Authority committee (currently Communications Officer), Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society committee, Ministerial Advisory Council for Senior Victorians, Nuclear Veterans Association (Victorian Co-ordinator), Native Animal Shelter carer, and cookery judge. Mrs Green was awarded a CFA National Medal (1996), Centenary Medal (2003) and was the Mitchell Shire Senior Woman of the Year (2006). Andrew Hogan Andrew is a veterinarian with a mixed animal practice in Seymour, and is a member and past president of the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society. He has been a member of the Organising Committee of the Victorian Wines show for seven years. He has a keen interest in the Wines Show as a local event as well as an appreciation of the effort, skill and perseverance involved in producing the wines that are presented for judging. He is keenly aware that the presentation of the event is critical to its ongoing appeal and is pleased to be part of the team that brings the event together. Annie Carmichael Annie has been involved with the Victorian Wines Show for four years. In recent years she has worked part-time in Central Victorian wine education and sales. It was through this work that Annie became involved in the Show’s Committee. Annie has a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Development and has worked for many years in that field. Annie’s other interests include work in holistic health, sports massage and rehabilitation. David Atkins David is a retired public servant with thirty years experience in the horticultural industry. David's passion for wine is longstanding with particular interest in Victoria. In 2007 he became involved with the Victorian Wines Show and his appreciation and enjoyment led to his involvement as an active member of the committee.
