Chairman of Judges – Gary Baldwin Gary is an experienced winemaker who travels widely throughout Australia and overseas providing technical advice and assistance to wine industry clients on all aspects of wine production. This provides him with the opportunity to remain up to date with world wide winemaking trends and viticultural issues. Gary has qualifications in biochemistry and wine science and many years experience in senior winemaking and management; wine show judging, wine research and extension. He is one of Australia's most respected wine professionals.
Director – Darren Jewell Chairman - Robert Berglund An administrator and manager with 30 years experience in the conduct of Secretary/Treasurer - Sarah Barnbrook (Rehm) Sarah has a foundation of community development and local government experience. She has worked in a number of areas including as a computer help desk, a junior programmer, a public service officer for a large city, a programme specialist, and public works community support liaison. Sarah studied Business & Marketing and Community Development. Ron Holden Ron is a sheep and cattle farmer from Seymour and has been involved with the Victorian Wines Show since its inception: One of the initiating forces behind the show. Working in the capacity of Director and Secretary in the early years and as Chairman and committee member to the present: Ron has had great pleasure watching the show grow and develop and continues as an active member of the organising committee. Andrew Hogan Andrew is a veterinarian with a mixed animal practice in Seymour, and is a member and past president of the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society. He has been a member of the Organising Committee of the Victorian Wines show for seven years. He has a keen interest in the Wines Show as a local event as well as an appreciation of the effort, skill and perseverance involved in producing the wines that are presented for judging. He is keenly aware that the presentation of the event is critical to its ongoing appeal and is pleased to be part of the team that brings the event together. Annie Carmichael Annie has been involved with the Victorian Wines Show for six years. In recent years she has worked part-time in Central Victorian wine education and sales. It was through this work that Annie became involved in the Show’s Committee. Annie has a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Development and has worked for many years in that field. Annie’s other interests include work in holistic health, sports massage and rehabilitation. David Atkins David is a retired public servant with thirty years experience in the horticultural industry. David's passion for wine is longstanding with particular interest in Victoria. In 2007 he became involved with the Victorian Wines Show and his appreciation and enjoyment led to his involvement as an active member of the committee. Victor Nash Victor has tertiary qualifications from the University of Sydney. With a Bachelor of Applied Science (Wine Science) at Charles Sturt University, his interest with cool climate wines took him to the Strathbogie Ranges. He has a passion for the great French varietals of Bordeaux and the Rhone, although his experience in contract winemaking has fortified his abilities with a wide array of varietals from Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy as well. Victor's reputation for effective and professional wine production management holds him in great stead as winemaker/consultant and committee member. His other interests in community activities include volunteering in the CFA. |
